News: Driver dies following 3-car collision in Independence

INDEPENDENCE, MO – A driver was killed in a multi-vehicle wreck in Independence on Saturday afternoon, police said.

 

According to a report by WDAF, the collision happened in the vicinity of Truman Road and Brookside Avenue at about 1:20 p.m.

 

Investigators said a Jeep Wrangler was on Truman Road behind a vehicle making a turn onto Brookside Avenue when the Jeep was struck from behind by an eastbound GMC Yukon. The impact caused the Jeep to travel into the westbound lanes of Truman Road, where it hit a Toyota Corolla.

 

The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene.  The victim’s name was not immediately released.  The other two drivers were not injured.
