KANSAS CITY, MO – A high-speed car wreck in Kansas City early Monday morning left the driver critically injured, according to a KSHB report.
Police were dispatched to the area of Northeast 49th Terrace and North Chouteau Trafficway in the Northland area at about 3:40 a.m.
Officers learned that the driver of a Honda Civic was going north at a high rate of speed and was unable to negotiate a curve near Northeast 49th Terrace.
The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a large tree.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was rushed to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The passenger, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Kansas City police.
