News: Collision sends truck crashing into Kansas City building, injuring 3

KANSAS CITY, MO – A vehicle crashed into a building in Kansas City early Tuesday morning after colliding with another vehicle, WDAF reported.

 

Police said the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup was headed south at high speed on Troost Avenue shortly after midnight.  The Silverado crossed into the northbound lanes of the roadway and collided head-on with a Nissan Altima.

 

The Silverado went down an embankment and slammed into a building at 1111 E. 85th Street that houses the Freedom Fire Ministries, according to police.

 

The driver of the Altima and a passenger were hospitalized in critical condition.  The driver of the Silverado was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.  No one was in the building at the time of the accident.

 

Police are investigating to determine whether one of the drivers was impaired at the time of the crash.
