News: Collision in Independence leaves 1 dead, 2 seriously injured

INDEPENDENCE, MO – A collision in Independence on Sunday night left one person dead and two others injured, according to KSHB.

 

The incident happened in the area of Salisbury Road and Downey Avenue east of Missouri 291 Highway at about 10:45 p.m.

 

Independence police said the driver of a 2019 Nissan Altima pulled onto Salisbury Road from Downey Avenue and entered the path of a 2013 Kia Sorento heading east on Salisbury Road, resulting in a crash.

 

The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Nissan and the driver of the Kia were hospitalized with serious injuries.
