News: Bicycle rider dies after being struck by vehicle in Northland

KANSAS CITY, MO – A man died when his bicycle was hit by a vehicle in Kansas City early Monday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

 

According to the MSHP’s crash report, the incident occurred at about 5:30 a.m. on NW Tullison Road south of Riverway Boulevard in the Northland area.

 

State troopers said 25-year-old Xavier Anderson of Kansas City, Missouri, was riding a bike when he was struck from behind by a southbound 2016 Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 25-year-old Kansas City woman.

 

Anderson was ejected from his bike and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was taken to North Kansas City Hospital where he was pronounced dead several hours later.

 

The MSHP was assisted in the investigation by the Riverside Police Department.
