News: 3 injured when car and Freightliner collide on Interstate 49

CASS COUNTY, MO – Three people were taken to the hospital following a collision between a car and a truck in Cass County late Monday night.

 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s accident report, it happened on Interstate 49 southbound at the 173.9 marker at 11:20 p.m.

 

State troopers said the driver of a 2016 Ford was attempting to overtake and pass a 2020 Freightliner when it struck the truck on the driver’s side. The Ford then went off the roadway and overturned.

 

Two passengers in the Ford, 21-year-old Jeny Dominguez of Orlando, Florida, and 18-year-old Joshua Olsen of Harrisonville, Missouri, were taken to Research Hospital with moderate injuries. The driver of the car, a 17-year-old male, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Cass Regional Medical Center.
