News: 2 pedestrians struck in Independence by hit-and-run driver

INDEPENDENCE, MO – Police in Independence are searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck two pedestrians on Tuesday night, the Kansas City Star reports.

 

The two victims were hit by a minivan in the area of Appleton Avenue and Winner Road at about 7:30 p.m. Both were seriously injured.

 

The driver of the minivan left the scene after the crash and was last seen going west on Winner Road. The vehicle was believed to be red or maroon, but no further details about a description were released.

 

The Independence Police Department asked anyone with further information regarding the driver or the minivan to contact them.
