KANSAS CITY, MO – A pedestrian accident in Kansas City on Saturday morning sent two people to the hospital, police said.
A report by WDAF states that the incident happened near the city’s Midtown-Westport neighborhood shortly before 2 a.m.
Police said two pedestrians were struck by a Honda Accord at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and West 39th Street. An investigation determined that the driver of the Accord went through a green light at the intersection and hit the pedestrians after they walked directly in front of the car.
EMS crews rushed the two victims to an area hospital. One was critically injured while the other was seriously injured.
The driver remained on the scene to cooperate with investigators, and police said there were no indications of impairment.
