LATHROP, MO – Authorities said two vehicles were involved in a deadly head-on collision on Missouri 116 Wednesday afternoon.
KSHB reports the incident occurred two miles east of Lathrop at about 3:30 p.m. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 36-year-old Christopher McCubbin of Polo was driving a Ford east on the highway when he crossed over the center line and crashed into another vehicle.
McCubbin was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, 73-year-old Lance Romig of Kansas City, died after being transported to an area hospital.
A passenger in Romig’s vehicle was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
