News: 2 drivers injured in rear-end collision on US 24 in Lafayette County

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, M0 – The Missouri State Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a rear-end collision in Lafayette County on Wednesday evening.

 

The MSHP’s accident report states that the crash occurred on U.S. Highway 24 east of Riverview Drive  at about 5:55 p.m.

 

An investigation determined that the driver of a 2000 Ford overtook and struck the back of a 2016 Kia as both vehicles were heading eastbound.   Upon impact, both vehicles went off the roadway and came to rest.

 

The driver of the Ford, 65-year-old Herschel Todd of Wellington, Missouri, and the driver of the Kia, 24-year-old Ashlynn Smith of Odessa, Missouri, both suffered minor injuries.  They were transported by Wellington EMS to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment.
