News: 2 drivers hospitalized after vehicles collide on shoulder of U.S. 50

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said two drivers were injured when their vehicles were involved in a crash in Johnson County Tuesday morning.

State troopers issued a crash report on the incident that occurred on U.S. 50 eastbound just west of the Business U.S. 50 Junction shortly after 10:30 a.m.

Investigators said an eastbound Ford Fiesta was stopped on the shoulder of the roadway when it was struck by an eastbound Buick Enclave that went off the road. The Fiesta returned to the road and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels.

The driver of the Enclave, 18-year-old Andrew M. Anderson of Holden, Missouri and the driver of the Fiesta, 39-year-old Aaron W. Reedy of Lone Jack, Missouri, both suffered moderate injuries. They were transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.

The two vehicles were totaled and were towed from the scene.
