News: 2 dead in multi-vehicle wreck along Interstate 435 in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – A multi-vehicle accident on a Kansas City highway Friday morning left two people dead, KCTV reported.

Police said a Kansas City Fire Department Ford Explorer rear-ended a Nissan Versa on Interstate 435 westbound at about 5 a.m. near 103rd Street.  The Nissan was then struck again by a Freightliner truck.

A passenger in the back seat of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene, while a front seat passenger in the car died after being taken to an area hospital.

The eastbound lanes of I-435 were shut down near the Grandview Triangle as police and first responders worked the scene, causing delays that reportedly stretched for miles.
